The Philanthropic Society “THE FRIENDS OF THE CHILD”
Has offered assistance to 500 families and2,000 children in the 20 years of its existence. Over these years, the Society has accomplished the following: - 9 operations have been performed; 11children baptized; 29 children given awards; 7 marriages consecrated. 43children have received tutoring and school fees. 370 children have been sent to camp on vacation; 42 families accommodated at a hotel in Xylokastro; 24families with 40 children sent on vacation to Nea Makri.
The non-profit Society is governed by a 20-member board of directors. To the present day, it continues to contributewith its excellent organization, quality of work, and experience in theprotection and care of the child. Itsincome is provided for by the contributions of its members (80 Euros perannum), from gifts, donations, and from the receipts from events which itorganizes. Open daily, at a privateresidence on Stisichorou Street 15, Kolonaki (Athens), the Society from itsfounding has employed a social worker, psychologist, and health worker. |
